How to connect your Catering Kit to the machine
This guide is for catering kits from June 2026 onwards.
The Decent Espresso machine has a built-in 2-liter water tank that you normally have to fill by hand. With our catering kit, you can pull water from a water bottle or water tank and fill it into your espresso machine. It is compatible with all the models in the DE1 series (including the DE1PRO, the DE1XL, and the discontinued DE1PLUS) and with Bengle.
What you'll get in the box
1. The catering kit itself;
2. A thicker white tube;
3. A thinner white tube;
4. A black Ethernet cable;
5. A simple valve with a piece of tube;
6. A black bracket, which already comes mounted to it (you can remove it if you don't need it);
7. A second black bracket, which serves to mount the catering kit to the machine.
How to mount your catering kit
without the valve
1. Connect the thicker white tube (2) to the left opening on the back of the catering kit (1). The other end of the tube will be put into the water bottle or tank that holds your water.
2. Connect the thinner white tube (3) to the right opening on the back of the catering kit.
3. Connect the other end of the thinner white tube (3) to your machine.
4. Connect the Ethernet cable (4) to the square opening on the back of your catering kit (1).
5. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable (4) to the back of your machine.
6. Mount the catering kit with one of these options:
with the valve
The valve needs to be used if the water source is put at the same level or higher than the Catering Kit.
1. Connect the thicker white tube (2) to the simple valve (5), namely the side of the valve that has no tube. The other end of the tube (2) will be put into the water bottle or tank that holds your water.
2. Connect the short tube end coming from the valve (5) into the left opening on the back of the catering kit (1)
3. Connect the thinner white tube (3) to the right opening on the back of the catering kit.
4. Connect the other end of the thinner white tube (3) to your machine.
5. Connect the Ethernet cable (4) to the square opening on the back of your catering kit (1).
6. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable (4) to the back of your machine.
7. Mount the catering kit with one of these options:

Using the catering kit:
1. Turn on the catering kit before turning on the machine (there's a switch on the back).
2. The catering kit activates when the machine detects that it needs more water.
3. The pump runs and draws water from the water source via tubes into the machine's water tank.
4. The machine automatically stops when the water tray is filled to the optimum level.
